Fellowships
Our fellowship program supports emerging and established professionals, scholars, and researchers who are interested in advancing work at the intersection of art, history, storytelling, museums, and community engagement. As part of our commitment to cultivating new perspectives and interdisciplinary collaboration, fellows are invited to contribute their expertise while gaining professional experience within a gallery setting.
Fellowships may be structured on either a project-based or time-based model, allowing participants to meaningfully engage with research, collections, public initiatives, and institutional work. Fellows receive direct exposure to the inner workings of gallery operations and contribute to projects that strengthen our impact within the local veteran community and across the San Francisco arts landscape.
We seek individuals who are passionate about the arts, museums, storytelling, history, and creating meaningful cultural impact. Fellows may come from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds, with opportunities designed to support cross-disciplinary perspectives and innovative approaches.
Curatorial fellowships are offered on a limited basis. Applicants should have completed graduate-level study or possess an equivalent level of professional experience. Areas of fellowship include:

Internships
The Veterans Gallery internship program provides students and emerging professionals with hands-on learning experiences designed to build practical skills and introduce participants to the daily operations of a working gallery. As part of our commitment to supporting future arts and cultural leaders, we cultivate an environment where interns are encouraged to learn, contribute, and develop professionally.
Interns work closely with gallery leadership and team members to gain experience in exhibition development, collections care, public programs, and institutional operations. Participants receive hands-on training while developing an understanding of how museums and cultural organizations function behind the scenes.
We welcome applicants from a wide range of academic and professional disciplines and work individually with each intern to create an experience that aligns with university requirements, career goals, and professional interests. We are seeking emerging cultural leaders and individuals passionate about uplifting veterans through the arts and community engagement.
Internships are offered on a rolling basis and generally require regular working days at the gallery. Internship opportunities may include:
