The Stories They Keep: Personal Memories from the Korean War
This exhibition brings together the stories of American and South Korean veterans and civilians who lived through the Korean War and its aftermath. Through oral histories, personal photographs, keepsakes, music, and objects, participants share memories of the Korea they knew, from initial impressions and daily routines to military service and cross-cultural connections. Veterans and their families kept these photographs and objects for decades, and together with their recorded voices, they offer us a glimpse into a period of war, loss, rebuilding, and upheaval.
